Ontario led the charge with a whopping 38,450 listings, a 15% jump from last month and the highest count since mid-2023. This makes Ontario the single largest contributor to the national rise.
Quebec held steady at 12,493, posting consistent volume for the third straight month. This marks a 27% year-over-year increase and signals that seller confidence is holding strong in the province.
British Columbia recorded 10,975 pre-mover listings in May—slightly down from April and down slightly from the same month last year. The province continues to demonstrate stability, even amid market uncertainty in the Lower Mainland.
Other notable increases:
- Alberta climbed to 9,589, a 10.9% month-over-month rise and up 6% year-over-year.
- Nova Scotia reached 1,291, now at its highest point in over 12 months.
- Saskatchewan posted 1,528, the province’s best performance since early 2023.
In smaller provinces, New Brunswick, Manitoba, PEI, and Newfoundland and Labrador all saw steady month-over-month growth, continuing their seasonal climb and contributing to a strong national total.
